Grand National Tournament Prepares Team Philippines for Global Stage
After making her Olympic debut in Tokyo, Filipina swimmer Elreen Ann Ando is now facing increased pressure to deliver a more impressive performance in the 2024 Olympic Games. The young athlete has been selected as part of Team Philippines for the MILO Little Olympics (MLO), a grand national tournament that serves as a preparatory event for the upcoming Games.
The MLO is open to students in the Elementary and Secondary Division, and it provides a platform for promising athletes to showcase their talents and represent the country on the global stage. Ando, who specializes in the backstroke and butterfly events, will be looking to build on her success in Tokyo and secure a podium finish in the 2024 Olympics.
Other members of Team Philippines, including boxers Nesthy Petecio and Carlo Paalam, will also be participating in the MLO. The tournament will help the athletes develop their skills and gain valuable competitive experience as they prepare for the challenges of the Olympic Games.
